September 7th: Mystery Speaker
At this time I still do not know who our speaker is, but I know they will be great! I look forward to seeing you all!
August 24th: Bea Salazar, Bea's Kids
 Bea Salazar of Carrollton, Texas started her charity, without any intention of starting a charity. She was just helping a single person, who she found on a blistering hot Texas June day in 1990 she went to take her trash to the apartment complex dumpster - a young boy trying to retrieve a piece of bread and eat it.
She fed him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and sent him on his way. Soon a “beautiful knock” at the door brought many more children who asked if she was giving away food. Finding out that these children, left alone during the summer days, were not getting the school breakfasts and lunches they normally received during the school year she scrambled for assistance and the word quickly spread.
Bea showed us pictures of her "kids" and read us a very touching letter from one of her kids, who moved away with his family and without an after school program to keep him away from gangs, drugs and alcohol he feel into a bad crowd. He always kept Bea in his mind and because of her and her belief in him, he turned his life around.
There's so much we all can do...We can make such a big difference in children's lives because the need is there - a big, big need. All we have to do is find it." -Bea Salazar
