Speaker Profile:  David C. Scott, Speaker, Author, Presenter

David C. Scott

Using words and stories from Theodore Roosevelt's extraordinary and influential life, David C. Scott masterfully connects the wisdom and wit of one of history's greatest presidents to the high ideals of honor and duty in his new book, We are Americans, We are Scouts.

The inspiring life of our twenty-sixth president sets the background to illustrate and reinforce the lasting importance of strong character, productive citizenship, and sound leadership. By bridging the past to the present of one of our country's most venerated youth movements, Scott's exciting book teaches us the power of action, the impact of one's potential, and the meaning of living a good and honorable life through the writings and voice of this remarkable patriot, leader, and father.

David C. Scott is an avid student of the emerging worldwide Scouting Movement in the twentieth century. A graduate of Vanderbilt University and Southern Methodist University, Mr. Scott has entertained audiences nationwide through his inspirations and motivational keynote talks and presentations to national patriotic and fraternal groups, Scouting, and youth groups.

Past Speaker Profile:  Steve Nitzel, Texas Tornado

Steve NitzelSteve Nitzel of The Texas Tornado, a Junior A hockey team located in Frisco, Texas. The team joined the North American Hockey League's Central division in 1999 (and moved into the newly-formed southern division three years later) while located in North Richland Hills, Texas, and have enjoyed unprecedented success since their expansion year. The Tornado hold the NAHL regular season.

Steve told us several humors stories from his time in basketball, to arena football to soccer to hockey. He works closely with people and teams to make them more successful versions of themselves. He mostly told us about the success he has had with the Tornado's.

The Tornado play their home games at the 6,000-seat Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco. All of their games are shown live on the B2 Network in a pay-per-view format or season pass, and for free with an audio-only format.

On May 13, 2006, the Tornado won their third straight Robertson Cup, defeating the Bozeman Icedogs. This would be the first time in over 15 years that a team won three consecutive Robertson Cups. The Texas Tornado are owned and operated by the Schlegel Sports Group.

Raffle:  Every Week!

Show me the money!  We will have a “BIG JACKPOT” raffle drawing every week.  Here are the rules.

-          The drawing will be held every week after the speaker concludes.  Tickets can be bought up to that time.  $1 for 1 ticket, $5 gets 6 tickets.

-          A ticket will be drawn at the end of the meeting.

-          But the weekly winner, will not automatically get the jackpot.  To ensure we have a BIG JACKPOT, we then ask the winner to draw the “winning card” from a standard deck of 52 cards.  If they pull the “winning card”, they get the BIG JACKPOT.

-          How do we determine the “winning card”?  After the jackpot is won, we will draw one card from a standard deck of 52 cards.  That card becomes the “winning card.”  It is reinserted into the deck.

-          If a non-winning card is drawn by the weekly drawing winner, that card is discarded.  This means the odds of drawing the “winning card” will improve every week as the BIG JACKPOT grows.

-          The jackpot is rolled over every week until the “winning card” is drawn.

-          The value of the BIG JACKPOT will be reported in the newsletter.

-       Half of the winning pot goes to the Addison Midday Rotary Foundation.
