Run Meeting:  9/1/09, Crowne Plaza, 11:15 am

Speaker Profile:  Jered Green

Understanding and Enjoying Auctions. A primer on the world's auction landscape, and Q & A on the value of collectibles and artwork.

Jared Green serves as Vice President of Business Development for Heritage Auction Galleries. He works primarily on developing institutional clients and championing new ventures for the company's memorabilia auction house in the world with over $700 million dollars in annual sales of fine art, rare coins and vintage memorabilia.

Mr. Green maintains strong relationships with a number of Fortune 500 companies including Random House, Playboy Enterprises, DC Comics/Time-Warner AOL, and a number of other retail and banking institutions. All of which have collections of rarities and fine art. Through his relationship with the American Red Cross, the non-profit organization recently signed into an agreement with Heritage to auction their historic collection of original illustration art and memorabilia.

Past Speaker Profile: Jonathan D Schick, Author

The Nonprofit Secret:  The Six Principles of Successful Board/CEO Partnerships

Jonathan Schick

In his book The Nonprofit Secret:  Six Principles of Successful Board/CEO Partnerships, Jonathan Schick shares the Six Principles that can unlock an organizations potential and lead to successful board/CEO partnerships. Jonathan spoke to us about all six principles and how critical it is for the board and the executive director to be on the same page. Jonathan spoke to the fact that to grow any non-profit it is critical to hire an executive director as he feels they are the life blood of the non-profits.

Jonathan also spoke about having employee reviews be ongoing (do not blindside someone with something they have been doing "wrong" all year long at their review). This is something that can apply to all of our businesses as well!
