April 2 Meeting
Laura Lester
Encore Memory Care Day Center
Encore Memory Care Day Center is focused on providing specialized programs for people with Alzheimer’s or other related Dementia diseases. Dementia is a general term (not a diagnosis) for loss of memory, language, problem-solving and other thinking abilities that are severe enough to interfere with daily life. Alzheimer’s is the most common cause of dementia. Think of Dementia as an umbrella term with the various types of Dementia identified under it.
Prior to owning Encore Laura Lester has always been an entrepreneur and owned and invested in other small businesses. Because she has cared for loved ones with dementia in her family, this cause is especially dear to her heart. When the opportunity arose to invest in this venture, Laura and her husband gave capital to get it started, never dreaming that eventually she would be running it and looking forward to coming to work there every day. Laura has owned Encore Memory Care Day Center for almost fourteen years and she and her staff consider it their ministry. We have created a place that we would have had our loved ones attend, if it had been available when we needed it.
The Eclipse Celebration in Addison is April 8th.
