April 30 Meeting
Mike Vincent
Addison Interim Chief of Police
On March 1, 2024, Mike Vincent assumed the role of Interim Police Chief of the Town of Addison, TX.

The Town of Addison has engaged a recruitment firm to assist with the Police Chief search. The five- to six-month process will include a national recruiting effort and an opportunity for public input on the final candidates.

Mike Vincent has been with the Addison Police Department for nearly 20 years; in that time, he has served as an officer and supervisor in Patrol, Criminal Investigations, SWAT, and Administration.  During his career, Mike also served in numerous collateral assignments, such as Range Master, and instructed hundreds of hours of police training.  He is a proud Texas Aggie, where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and graduated with a bachelors degree in marketing, and later obtained his masters degree in Justice Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.  Prior to being named Interim Chief, he oversaw the Operations Division as the Assistant Chief, where he oversaw a broad array of responsibilities, most notably the Patrol and Criminal Investigations sections.  He is a graduate of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s School of Executive Leadership and is currently participating in the Leadership Metrocrest program.
Rotary District 5810 received the following Thank You message from District Governor 5730, Bonnie Pendleton for our monetary and clothing donations for the panhandle fire victims:

Please thank all the wonderful Rotarians in your District for being so generous to aid victims of the Panhandle wildfires in such great ways!  PDG Susan Brints announced at our District Conference this past weekend your large monetary donation to assist with the Rotary Disaster Recovery grant.

Thank you also for bringing clothing and household goods to Wheeler -- your timing was perfect as wildfire victims are now ready to start rebuilding their homes.

District 5730 Rotarians are incredibly grateful to District 5810!  Thank you VERY much!

Bonnie Pendleton, Ph.D.
Rotary District 5730 Governor 2020-21 and 2023-24

At our February 20 meeting, after Jackie Rakowski, Executive Director of Woven Health Clinic, made her presentation, the Addison Midday Rotary Club made a $1,500 donation to WOVEN Health Clinic.

The donation will be used to provide vaccination shots to those who cannot afford the cost of the shot.

Over 85% of the patients at WOVEN Health Clinic are uninsured.

100% are below 250% of the poverty level.
On December 5, The Addison Rotary Club and The Addison Midday Rotary Club presented the Addison Fire and Police Departments with check for their Santa's Hero's program.   The money represents the proceeds from the Pancake Breakfast jointly held by both clubs on November 11.

Our club is donating:
164 books
30 glue sticks
