Past Speaker Profile: Dave McSpadden - District Governor
Rotary Club of Waxahachie, TX, USA, Rotary International District 5810 Governor 2009-10
Dave spoke to us about his passion for Rotary. He told us about how upon joining his club in Waxahachie he considered not going back, he did not feel accepted, he did not feel as if he was getting anything out of it, but he told his father-in-law he was considering giving up Rotary and his father-in-law asked what was he giving to Rotary. He said it changed his entire experience. He realized that instead of looking for what Rotary could for him, he would look at what he could do for Rotary, and look at him now. Dave has served his Rotary Club, District 5810 and his local community in many offices. Dave was co-founder and the first chairman of the District's Rotary International Leadership Institute. Dave and Marilyn have shared many wheel chairs distribution trips and a Rotary mission trip for water, scholarship and other projects in Malawi and Zambia to Africa last year.
Dave implored our guests to join Rotary and to find out what they could do for Rotary as well. Thank you Dave!
