The Mission Statement of the Addison Fire Department is to save lives, protect property, and serve with integrity.
Committed to guarding and preserving the lives and property of those who call our city home, our department provides fire protection and emergency services across Addison. The Fire Department's 60 members strive to earn the respect of our community through critical operations based upon concern, compassion, and professionalism in all endeavors. Working together to accomplish our mission, our team is certified in emergency medicine, and all our vehicles are staffed with highly trained paramedics who can provide advanced life support services within minutes.
AMRC Member McRee Smith graduated from Centenary College with a degree in Business finance and investment. He has served in the Army national guard for four years as an Intelligence officer. McRee has been in EMS for two years and with the Addison Fire Department for one year.
Philip Hyde has over 15 years of experience as a Firefighter and Paramedic. He was a Field Training Officer for eight years and the Clinical Educator for his department for three years. In these roles, he helped new and experienced Firefighters stay informed on the ever-changing and complex emergency response environment by developing and teaching monthly CE courses to his department.
Philip holds a bachelor’s degree in emergency health science from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio and an associate’s Degree in Fire Service Administration from Weatherford College. He was awarded Firefighter/Paramedic of the Year in 2012 and a city-wide Integrity Award in 2016.
In his free time, Philip enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is active in his local church and likes to hunt and fish.
